Samoloty widoczne na zdjęciu należą do Polskiego Kontyngentu Wojskowego “Orlik 8”. Zostało ono wykonane na Litwie 19 marca 2019 roku podczas jednej ze zmian Baltic Air Policing - operacji NATO w ramach Sił Szybkiego Reagowania. Celem misji jest nadzór przestrzeni powietrznej krajów nadbałtyckich: Litwy, Łotwy i Estonii.

Jego historia sięga pierwszej połowy lat 70-tych, po raz pierwszy użyty w walce w 1981 roku, a w służbie Polskich Sił Powietrznych znajduje się od roku 2006. Zdjęcie powstało 16 października 2018 na lotnisku Poznań-Krzesiny, gdzie mieści się 31. Baza Lotnictwa Taktycznego.

Wielozadaniowy samolot myśliwski konstrukcji francuskiej produkowany od lat 90-tych XX wieku przez firmę Dassault Aviation. W przeciwieństwie do myśliwców wielozadaniowych, które zwykle mają dominującą rolę pierwszoplanową oraz drugoplanową (np. myśliwca/bombowca/samolotu wsparcia etc.), Rafale określany jest przez producenta jako samolot do wszystkich zadań,  gdyż może swobodnie przestawiać się z jednej roli na drugą w trakcie wykonywania danej operacji.
